The 76ers are hiring Brad Jones as the new general manager of the G League’s Delaware Blue Coats, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Jones, who also will be a Sixers pro scout, comes from the G League offices, where he worked for eight years. His most recent title was basketball affairs and player personnel lead, a position in which he helped assemble the NBA G League United Team that won the 2026 FIBA Intercontinental Cup Championship in Beijing, according to a news releaase.

Jones also previously worked in scouting and video roles with the Orlando Magic, including when Sixers executive vice president of basketball operations Jameer Nelson played for the franchise. Jones also has been a consultant for USA Basketball.

“Brad possesses a tremendous knowledge of the game and has natural leadership capabilities and a wealth of experience that will position him well as the next Blue Coats general manager,” Sixers president of basketball operations Mike Gansey said in a news release. “He’s a great addition to our organization and well-respected throughout the league. We’re happy to have him on our side.”

Jones replaces Ariana Andonian, who was hired as general manager of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks last month.

Running the Blue Coats also has been a path to the Sixers front office, as Nelson and vice president of player personnel Prosper Karangwa previously held that role.

The organization also promoted CJ Marchesani to Blue Coats assistant general manager, after he spent four seasons in the Sixers’ scouting department.

The Blue Coats begin their 2026-27 season Nov. 6 against the Capital City Go-Go.
