House of the week: A four-bedroom stone twin in East Mount Airy for $615,000
The home has a finished lower level with a garage, laundry room, half bathroom, and utility closet.

Meghan Karlik and Nick Moreno have moved back and forth between Vermont and Philadelphia in recent years, before finally settling in Vermont.
But both say it was a close call and they will miss the four-bedroom, 2½-bathroom stone house in East Mount Airy that they bought in 2024.
“For a big city, Philadelphia has a real neighborhood feel,” said Moreno, a winemaker and arborist.
“Philadelphia has a lot of heart,” said Karlik.
And she liked how much was walkable from Mount Airy. “When we first moved here we didn’t have a car,” she said.
The couple moved to the Philadelphia area from New Jersey in 2015, partly due to Karlik’s job as a project manager in cancer clinical research.
Moreno calls the house’s location “the greenest corner in Philadelphia. You almost forget you’re living in a city.”
The house is 2,040 square feet and has a finished walk-out lower level that is divided into segments. The space contains a garage, laundry, half bathroom, and utility space.
The first floor has the kitchen, dining room, sitting room, and sunken living room with bay windows.
The bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the second floor, and the primary bedroom has an en suite bathroom. All the bedrooms have individual heating and cooling and there is a whole-house water filtration system.
A Regional Rail stop is a five-minute walk away, as is the commercial area of Germantown Avenue and the Wissahickon Valley trail network.
There is ample street parking.
The house is listed by Pete Rossi of Redfin Corporation for $615,000.
