Chester County roadwork to watch out for this week

Drivers, take note of these possible delays and detours that could cause traffic across several municipalities.

Roadwork will cause detours, delays, and closures in more than a dozen municipalities throughout the county this week, including disruptions in East Brandywine Township and Oxford borough, as well as a monthlong project in West Caln Township.

Here are the traffic changes you need to know, starting Oct. 6:

  1. Caln Township: Fisherville Road will be closed between North Bailey and Caln Meetinghouse Roads from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Oct. 6.

  2. East Bradford Township: Peco work closing Copeland School Road between Dunmoore Lane and Frank Road is expected to continue on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Oct. 30. Ravine Road is closed for road bank stabilization, a project that’s expected to continue through the winter.

  3. East Brandywine Township: Corner Ketch Road will be closed weekdays between Hopewell and Creek Roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Oct. 6 and 16.

  4. East Caln Township: There will be a lane closure on Bell Tavern Boulevard, with intermittent work expected through Oct. 7, as the township undertakes stormwater infrastructure work.

  5. East Marlborough Township: Popular HBO series Task, created by Berwyn native Brad Ingelsby, will be filming in the area on Oct. 9, resulting in intermittent road closures. Expect police to control the flow of traffic on Wollaston Road and its intersections with West Street, Poplar Tree, and Doe Run Roads from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  6. East Nantmeal Township: Iron Bridge is currently closed for structural repairs. There’s no timeline yet for reopening.

  7. East Pikeland and Schuylkill Townships and Phoenixville Borough: Work on Route 23 is expected to continue through Oct. 30, resulting in weekday lane closures on Bridge Street at the Nutt Road intersection. Work takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  8. Franklin Township: Tree trimming will impact two roadways this week, temporarily stopping through traffic. On Oct. 7, work will take place on Auburn Road between Church Hill and North Bank Roads. And on Oct. 8, work will shift to Church Hill Road between Wickerton and Auburn Roads. Both will be impacted between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

  9. Honey Brook Township: Cupola Road bridge over the east branch of Brandywine Creek will be closed for repairs through about the first week of November. Also expect disruptions for line painting on township roads early this week.

  10. North Coventry Township: There will be a right lane closure on eastbound Route 422 between Hanover Street and Evergreen Road on Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for paving and construction work.

  11. Oxford Borough: Roadwork continues on parts of Hodgson and Mount Vernon Streets through Oct. 7.

  12. Pocopson Township: Paving work is slated to get underway this month, impacting parts of Parkerville Road and Four Streams Drive. Exact timelines for the work haven’t been announced.

  13. Spring City Borough: Intermittent closures on North Main Street between East Bridge and New Streets are expected to continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Oct. 9 as Peco makes upgrades to its infrastructure.

  14. Tredyffrin Township: There will be overnight weekday closures on Route 252 between Lancaster Avenue and Swedesford and Howellville Roads from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Nov. 21 for utility construction. Also expect some delays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. near Timber Lane and Tory Hill Road through early October for Peco work.

  15. West Caln Township: Starting Oct. 12, Old Wilmington Road will be closed weekdays between Sandy Hill and Ash Roads from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work. The closure is expected to continue through Nov. 13.

  16. West Whiteland Township: Work at the intersection of Ship Road and Lincoln Highway, including for new traffic signal poles, is expected to continue into mid- to late-October, resulting in possible delays.
