Jaylen Brown will miss the 76ers’ Friday game against the New York Knicks with left knee tendinopathy, the team said.

Brown reported soreness after the Sixers’ win at the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday and was unable to go through Friday’s shootaround, coach Nick Nurse said during his pregame news conference.

Nurse said the Sixers (4-1) likely will start Dean Wade in Brown’s place.

Brown, an All-NBA wing whom the Sixers acquired in a blockbuster offseason trade, has averaged 20.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in his first five games.

After Friday’s marquee matchup, the Sixers play Saturday at the Charlotte Hornets (6 p.m., NBCSP).
