Several county commissioner seats are up for grabs in this year’s elections.

In Burlington County, a pair of GOP contenders are hoping to win and bring Republican representation to the existing completely Democratic board.

Three Republican candidates are also fighting to oust the three Democratic incumbents up for reelection on Gloucester County’s board. The existing makeup of the board is five Democrats and two Republicans.

Meanwhile, in Camden County, two Democrats will face only one Republican challenger, who is a repeat candidate.

The Inquirer’s Aliya Schneider has more insight on the individual candidates.

The Collingswood school district wants voters to say yes to the $4.56 million bond question on Tuesday.

According to superintendent Fred McDowell, the bond would help to fund operations, keep teachers, and decrease class sizes. Collingswood is one of many districts grappling with deficits and hoping to figure out how to address budget holes.

But school leaders recognize voters might require some convincing.

If approved, the bond question would mean a $1,324 annual increase to a tax bill for the average home in the borough, assessed at $448,000.

Reporter Melanie Burney breaks down the factors behind the ask and shares what other districts are requesting of voters.
